Hi, my name is Michael Chen, and I am a completely amateur poet. In more ways than I can imagine, I trust that my material doesn’t have enough substance or significance for it to be deemed as poetry. The thought of calling myself a poet is almost borderline absurd.
Nonetheless, the idea of yet another blog is to put all of the random stuff I come up with into one place of collection. I suppose this way, if the opportunity ever arises (I doubt that it will), I’d be able to refer back to this site and read through the stuff I wrote. Hopefully, I’ll get a good laugh out of reading my own stuff.
Much of what you’ll read on here isn’t going to make sense. The basis for these pieces comes from my interactions and relationships with coworkers, friends, classmates, and other people in my life. Out of boredom, I decided to compose rhyming pieces about them based on the anecdotal hilarity I’ve heard from them or about them.
And finally, I need to be honest and forthright about not being a native-speaker of English, so please forgive the occasionally poor rhyming and whatnot.
